Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski Retiring

For the past 9 years, New England Patriots fans have been graced with 3 Super Bowl victories in the Tom Brady – Bill Belichick era. With such a great track record in the last decade, it’s no surprise that the team has had its fair share of incredible players. Rob Gronkowski was one of the best tight-end players the league has ever seen.

Gronkowski announced his retirement on his Instagram with a lengthy post in which he thanked his fans, his team and reflects on his past 9 years in the league. The announcement shocked many fans and generated buzz across the league from his rivals and even his own teammates.

β€œIt all started at 20 years old on stage at the NFL draft when my dream came true, and now here I am about to turn 30 in a few months with a decision I feel is the biggest of my life so far. I will be retiring from the game of football today, I am so grateful for the opportunity that Mr. Kraft and Coach Belichick gave to me when drafting my silliness in 2010.”

It should be no surprise that one of the responses was from his teammate and quarterback for the last 9 years, Tom Brady.

Gronk ended his post by mentioning he is uncertain of what is to come next. Whatever is ahead for the New England legend, we wish him the best of luck. Thanks for being apart of the dynasty.

Certainly going to be missing the Gronk spikes on the field next season.
