An Honest Endgame Review from a Die Hard Marvel Fan

**WARNING: The following post will contain spoilers, major and minor, regarding Avengers: Endgame. If you haven’t seen the movie, I recommend watching before reading my thoughts and opinions**

Avengers: Endgame is a reward to all Marvel movie fans who have flocked to theaters to watch their favorite characters in the past decade. The movie wraps up what the company is considering to be the “Infinity Saga”; a classification of the past 22 movies that led up to the battles for the Infinity Stones.

Endgame takes place 5 years after the events of Infinity War and introduces two heroes into the Avengers film franchise. Ant-Man, who spent all of Infinity War stuck in the Quantum Realm, and Captain Marvel who was introduced earlier this year in her own film. Endgame marks the return of Thanos, who has since destroyed the Infinity Stones and audience members see the cast travel back in time using the Quantum Realm and Pym Particles to retrieve them before Thanos was able to grab them and complete the gauntlet.

In a way, the movie feels like a tribute to past Marvel films and recreates many of the scenes that fans loved including the New York battle from 2012’s Avengers, Peter Quill’s opening dance scene from Guardians of the Galaxy as well as much of the dialogue being direct throwbacks like Tony Stark’s last words being “I am Iron Man”, a tribute to the 2008 Iron Man film.

The movie led to many moments of cheering and crying in my local theater. The crowd was audibly excited in the final battle when Captain America was finally able to lift and throw the Mjolnir. The crying came shortly after during Tony Stark’s funeral with the somber gathering of heroes at the small lake house.

Avengers: Endgame was a tribute to fans and to RDJ’s portrayal of Stark and felt like a proper send off. This movie is easily one of my favorite films of all time and I am absolutely going to see it again soon. Even if you have only watched Marvel movies casually, this is an action-packed blockbuster that will entertain everyone.
